Royal Road and Patreon is where to get the newest chapters and releases.

The apocalypsewillbe televised!

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sad*stic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible.

In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth—from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds—collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground.

The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot. A dungeon so enormous, it circles the entire globe.

Only a few dare venture inside. But once you're in, you can't get out. And what's worse, each level has a time limit. You have but days to find a staircase to the next level down, or it's game over. In this game, it's not about your strength or your dexterity. It's about your followers, your views. Your clout. It's about building an audience and killing those goblins with style.

You can't just survive here. You gotta survive big.

You gotta fight with vigor, with excitement. You gotta make them stand up and cheer. And if you do have that "it" factor, you may just find yourself with a following. That's the only way to truly survive in this game—with the help of the loot boxes dropped upon you by the generous benefactors watching from across the galaxy.

They call itDungeon Crawler World. But for Carl, it's anything but a game.

The first several chapters of DCC are now off of Royal Road because the book is on Amazon. I want to thank all of you for 9 months of amazing support. This is and Patreon will always be the place for the newest chapters and content, but to comply with Amazon's Kindle Unlimited policy, I can't have more than 10% of the story up here.

This is a work in progress. Major editing will be done after the book is complete, so there will be egregious typos and parts that make no sense whatsoever. Please, please feel free to point any and all of these things out. Chapters WILL get edited, and that editing might break earlier chapters. I will attempt to keep readers apprised of all changes. Updates one-two days a week.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 6: The Ghosts of Earth (21)

Love this series

I quite enjoy the dungeon crawler carl books. They have good characters development, solid world building, important stakes, and a lot of fun!

I like that the stakes are super important for Carl and donut (and the other contestants) but overall will have minimal effect on the galaxy as a whole (with a caveat that Carl might be able to insight some form of revolution, or maybe just leave another breadcrumb for the next Carl to come along and pick up)

I look forward to continuing the series, and always jump on the next installment!

The fact that there are multiple floors which creates multiple settings, along with the massive amount of reoccuring characters, multiple long-term plot points, and the relatively slow releases, its a lot to keep up with. I'd say i read it consistently till I was finished with all the chapters avaliable then my motivation to keep reading died out.

Tldr: This is one of the stories where I'd recommend waiting for like 100+ myb 200+ chapters to come out, then binge it all at once.

Don't get me wrong, the story and the concept is great and clearly well-thought out. I would recommend it for basically anyone.

However, the flaw of the story is how complicated it is.

I understand and don't understand the many beyond excellent reviews. The story plot? I love it! Characters?not so much.. the cat just ruined it for me. Too much of a cheat, and instead of funny it comes off often as obnoxious. Making your pet cat talk? This, you either do good writing it or fail. Besides I went in thinking the owner is the MC but all along the cat is the MC. It can talk, it has higher intelligence than MC, orders MC around, gets better rewards than him, she's a \"Princess\" and he's a peasant -.-, surprisingly he's stupid in comparison to his cat, the cat only lacks common sense! Wow why do we need the human here? Anyways just my opinion, author you can at least tone down the cat. But anyways I'm pretty sure some people will like this, as evident. It's a good story but not so much on characters.. besides you get rewards/achievements for even moving your leg forward. It devalues the worth of rewards and achievements..

Lit RPG Done Right

Reviewed at: Chapter 29

The premise of Dungeon Crawler Carl -- that aliens have made a reality show out of turning earth into a dungeon -- is a great hook for both a legitimate delve experience and integrated humor. And that is key - the humorhere is fully integrated, meaning an inherent part of the story and not forced into it. While other lit rpgs make the MC OP by virtue of random events or firsts, here Carl's odd circ*mstances fuel the humor and the story. Carl, you see, wasthe first to enter the dungeon with a cat, as well as the first to enter without pants. For all the entertainment value, the characters act in believable ways and have understandable motivations. In short, the story pulls off the rare feet of dropping a lit rpg dungeon delve into a unique set of often very funny circ*mstances without hurting the integrity of the story.

The author is very clever, and makes use of the alien reality show aspect in surprising ways that feel logical. [Very Mild Spoiler Ahead] For instance, when the MCs finally take on a floor boss, they get interviewed by a woman that looks like a "crabtaur" -- human with a crab's lower body. After the segment tapes, she explains that long ago in her season, she was literally cut in half. As she lay ready to die, a gold item box miraculously held an item that allows one to bond monster parts inspiring her to keep fighting. She explains that she got far enough and had enough follows that the producers couldn't let her just die with whimper, giving up, hence the item. Citing her experience with producer manipulation of item drops, she warns Carl "if you ever want to see pants, stop whining about not having them." Its funny. Its clever and makes perfect sense. And fits right in to the story without feeling like a forced attempt to add humor.

Overall i very much enjoy this story. However once i caught up i realized the problem that had been nagging at me. Each chapter itself is not worth much. During each release it feels like you take a baby step forward which is not a problem when you are reading through but this way it feels too small

Dark comedy, actual characters you can empathize with, sensible progression and a good 'ol snarky System with a fetish for legs.

The best part is that the magic serves to advance the plot and not the other way around.

This story is well written, clever, and really fun. The plot is entertaining and the characters are interesting. The AI is an awesome villain.

There aren't any real downsides. Maybe the party could be a bit bigger. Maybe the side characters a little more fleshed out. But honestly, these are real nitpicks on my part, and mostly just to get to fifty words. The first paragraph is the real review

Yes, this is probably the best litrpg, and one of the best stories in general on the site. It's bloody brilliant in almost every way. Right-o, let's talk about a flaw.

The cat. Donut. Princess Donut.

Why.

To put it bluntly, she's annoying. Like, really annoying.

I know that she's intentionally annoying, but still. It's a little too much. It's not even like she needs to be removed. If her sass were only toned down a little, dungeon carl could be a practically perfect litrpg.

Of course, i'm sure many will disagree with me, but that's fine.

This is a thrilling story, full of intrigue, twists, drama, and backstabbing. Will Toby's alliances with 'the cat' remain until they fight the clones? Was Freddy really innocent of stealing his logistical supplies (snacks)? Was Tobita Notaclone actually not a clone?

...There is also a pretty good side-story about the Carl fella fighting against a dungeon. Great read so far, I highly recommend it! :D

The story of carl is humorous and yet deep in the conflicts that present themselves to him. A minor problem of the appocalitic genere itself is that if the MC is not reincarnated / timetraveled the MC is always reacting and not really acting. So far the author has not given much space for action but the reactions have been well scripted. I hope that the MC will get to act himself rather then beeing driven by circ*mstances. Other then that the story is a fun read and is working with steriotypes quite well. At this point (@Chapter 50) the running jokes are coming to the point were a change is needed but it seems that the author is working at it. Grammar has not been an issue reading the story so far but the MC and his cat use a similar style a more distinced difference would make it more intresting. it could be something small like mentioning the tone or prnouciation of the diffrent mobs to give more character. But yeah a good read.
