What does a keg of beer cost?

The cost of a keg of beer depends on the size and brand of beer. For example, a half keg of Dos Equis Amber costs about $158 plus a deposit, while a half keg of Stieglitz Grapefruit is $220 plus deposit. The keg deposit is typically small, about $15.

How do beer kegs work?

A keg is a sealed metal container that does two things: hold the beer in a stable environment and allow you to serve it through the tap. The keg has two chambers, one on top filled with gas like CO2 and the one below with the beer. When you press on the tap, the gas forces it out of the line and into your glass.

I don't see a craft beer keg from another state available. Can you order it for me?

In most cases, we cannot bring in kegs from other states. If a keg is not in stock, but the keg you're looking for can be ordered through one of our local distributors, a team member can work to secure that keg for you.

However, kegs still follow the same distribution rules that canned and bottled beer do. If a local distributor does not carry the brand or beer you're looking for, we will not be able to order that keg until the brewery gains distribution in your market.

Is a keg cheaper than cans?

Whether a keg is cheaper than cans depends on what brand of beer you purchase. The keg itself may be less expensive than buying individual cans–but you have to factor in the cost for cups.

How much beer do I need for 100 guests?

The amount of beer you need for a party with 100 guests depends on the length of the party, how much your guests like to drink, and whether there are other drink options available. If you plan to serve just beer for a three-hour party with average drinkers, you’ll need about 408 beers. But for that same party, if your guests are heavy drinkers, plan on having 600 cans of beer if you don’t want to run out.

How long do kegs of beer last?

If you keep your beer keg cold inside a kegerator that relies on CO2, it should last for six to eight weeks before it starts to taste flat. A pasteurized beer that’s kept chilled will last even longer, up to six months. An unpasteurized beer will keep for about two months.

How many beers are in a quarter keg?

What does a keg of Bud Light cost?

A half-barrel keg of Bud Light can cost anywhere from $79 to $139, depending on the market (plus deposit). The reason for the range in price is that distributors, who sell the kegs to retailers like Total Wine & More, vary by state and market. Due to these distributors varying by market, the price they each charge also varies. We do our best to keep the prices as low as possible so that our customers get the best price around.

A half keg can serve around 165 beers, so don’t forget to pick up some cups!

How tall is a beer keg?

The height of your beer keg depends on the size and model you choose. The shortest keg is a stubby quarter barrel, which measures just under 14 inches in height. The maximum height of most other keg sizes is only under 24 inches.

How much does a quarter keg cost?

Does keg beer go bad?

Yes, keg beer can go bad eventually, especially if it’s not refrigerated in a kegerator or stored in a cool place that is out of the sun. Beer that is not pasteurized has a shorter shelf life of only about two months. It’s a good idea to order a keg for an event and consume it in the first six to eight weeks, while it tastes its freshest.

Do beer kegs need to be refrigerated?
